The Tom Pells Fours Cup competition was held on Sunday 30th August. Thankfully it was a warm if day, even though heavy showers were forecasted. 6 teams of four were involved. At the break, it was a close run, but there was a team out in the lead (3-0), seemingly unbeatable. However, following the break, the lead team dropped a match, bringing them back into contention, but it was not to be. The team, clearly disappointed at dropping a match, made sure in the final match to end up winners (4-1).
Congratulations to the winning team, Ken Gaul, Don Weston, Steve Paulfrey and Maureen Cavill. The photo shows them receiving the trophy from the Lyn Pells, who’s husband, Tom, the trophy was named after.
Well done to all who entered the competition and made for an enjoyable day, even the heavy showers never materialised.
